Fun and interactive video conference tool
Developed by All Turtles Corporation, mmhmm is a virtual camera tool that can be incorporated into various video streaming services such as Zoom, Google Meet, and YouTube. It allows you to transform your room into a virtual stage and present magical slides, videos, and live web content, as well as high quality and interactive recordings. Unlike its Windows version that's still in private beta, the Mac version of this software is available to download and purchase.
How do I use mmhmm with Google Meet?
mmhmm works well in any web-based app either running in Chrome or Firefox. After the program's installation, you have to restart your browser for it to recognize the video communication utility as a selectable camera input. To connect with Meet, the software should be open and running. In your chosen browser, go to the meeting link you wish to join. Once the setup screen appears, click ‘Settings’ and then ‘Video.’
It is highly recommended for you to select the High definition (720p) video quality in both send and receive resolutions to ensure good quality videos during your presentation. After everything is settled, you will select the ‘mmhmm Camera’ then click ‘Done’ and join your conference call. To present in the greatest quality, it is suggested for you to utilize Meet's Present Now functionality especially if you are sharing a lot of text with your audience.
To do this, you just need to click the ‘Present Now’ button on your meeting screen and select ‘Share a Window.’ Afterward, press the ‘SHARE THIS’ window wherein your video feed is the only one shown. Sadly, for Safari or other built-in Apple apps like Photo Booth, this utility tool is not supported due to the security restrictions that macOS has in place. If you use other alternative programs though, this won't be much of an issue for you.
